What It Is
Ceramic coating is a nano-ceramic polymer that chemically bonds to your vehicle's clear coat, forming a semi-permanent layer of protection. Unlike wax — which sits on top and washes away — ceramic integrates with the paint surface and can only be removed by abrasion.
The result is 9H hardness that resists fine scratches, a hydrophobic surface that sheds water and road grime, and UV protection that prevents clear coat oxidation and color fade for years. It dramatically enhances gloss depth, making paint look wetter and more saturated than the day it left the factory. Note: ceramic coating does not prevent rock chips — that's what Paint Protection Film is for. Many of our clients layer both.
Our Process
Measure thickness under LED lighting, identify every defect before touching the car. We document the baseline so you can see the before-and-after at handoff.
Foam pre-wash, iron fallout removal, clay bar treatment, and IPA panel wipe. Every contaminant comes off before we touch the polisher.
Machine polishing removes swirls, light scratches, and haze before coating seals them in permanently. We do not skip this step.
The IGL formula is hand-applied panel by panel in our climate-controlled Downers Grove studio. Temperature and humidity are monitored throughout.
24-hour cure followed by a final quality inspection under LED lighting. You leave with a care kit and a written maintenance guide.

FAQ
IGL Ecoat Arcane is rated 3 years; IGL Kenzo 5 years. Illinois road salt and winters accelerate wear if the vehicle isn't washed regularly. Annual inspections help us catch degradation early and apply a booster coat before the hydrophobics decline noticeably.
No — it protects against UV, chemicals, and light scratches, but it does not absorb physical impact from road debris. For rock chip protection, Paint Protection Film is the right solution. Many clients combine both: PPF on impact zones, ceramic coating over the entire vehicle.
Plan on 1–2 days including paint correction, depending on vehicle size and the condition of the paint. Larger vehicles and heavier paint defects require more correction time before coating goes down.
Yes, and it's strongly recommended. PPF handles physical impact from rocks and debris; ceramic coating on top of the film adds hydrophobics and UV protection to the film's surface. Both IGL Ecoat Arcane and IGL Kenzo are fully compatible with TPU film.
Automatic brush car washes are the most common culprit — the brushes physically abrade the coating. Applying wax or sealant on top, using harsh chemical cleaners (anything with strong solvents or high/low pH), and neglecting regular washing all degrade the coating faster than normal wear.
